Itinerary :

Day 1 - Saturday to York and Darlington

We travel north to York, famous for its Minster, City Walls and Medieval lanes where we have a guided walking tour. We then journey through Herriot Country to stay in a beautiful 17th century mansion set in 15 acres of parkland. Dinner and overnight.

Day 2 - Sunday to Edinburgh

We pass through Durham and the border country, visiting a Border Abbey ruin on the way to Edinburgh. We then have a sightseeing tour of Edinburgh including the Royal Mile and Edinburgh Castle. An optional Scottish evening may be available. Dinner and overnight.

Day 3 - Monday to Liverpool

This morning we drive South West from Edinburgh through the rolling hills of the borders to reach the village of Gretna Green (which is famous for its runaway marriages). After a visit we drive to the Lake District, this is one of the most beautiful parts of England. After lunch on your own, in Grasmere we will see several of the Lakes before driving to Liverpool, you will have time to visit independently The Beatles Story and the Craven Club.

Day 4 - Tuesday to Chester

Our last day starts by driving into the Country of Cheshire. A walking tour takes us on part of the wall to see some of the Roman remains and also the world famous Rows. Time for shopping before driving to Stoke to visit Wedgwood pottery. We will arrive back at London around 6.30 p.m.
