THE COTSWOLDS - Just 60 miles west of London lies the Cotswolds. It’s landscape shaped by wool and stone and a place that William Morris called "an earthly paradise". Here, the softly undulating hillsides play second fiddle as the backdrop to the prettiest towns and villages in England. This tour allows you time to explore some of these villages for yourselves, stopping off at the villages of Burford, Bourton-on-the-Water and Stow-on-the-Wold.

BLENHEIM PALACE GARDENS – We arrive at the Blenheim via Woodstock the gateway to the Cotswolds for those travelling from London. Here we visit the gardens landscaped by Capability Brown. Then via Blandon, burial place of Churchill, we pass through Witney, then by Minster Lovell to Burford.

BURFORD – A thriving old wool town – set in the hills of the Windrush Valley built along a wide high street running steeply down to an old stone bridge that spans 15th and the 17th centuries. Time for lunch and shopping.

Then, onward through the Windbrush and Dickler Valley and into Gloucestershire to Bourton-on-the-Water. Often called the "Venice of the Cotswolds".

Finally, we travel to Stow-on-the-Wald, the highest town in the Cotswolds at 800 feet situated between the valleys of the Dickler and the Evenlode. The church of St. Edward was used as a prison for over a 1000 royalist captured one of the last battles of the Civil War nearby Stow in 1646. It also has one of the largest market squares and is noted for its antique shops and teashops.

AFTERNOON TEA – You will have afternoon tea at one of the beautiful villages.
