Just a week of vacation, this delightful tour shows you the scintillating Paris as well as one of the "Four" flowers of Europe - Reims, the city of Champagne where you ride in the cellar's special cart, you glide through the vast underground cave of POMMERY. Champagne, the golden drink, once a privilege beverage only to the aristocrat and royalties, was created in this city around the 17th century, and wait, we show you the birthplace of the great Philosopher "Karl Marx" and the city's famous Roman remains. There is the principality of Luxembourg to follow with Brussels, notably the cross-road of Europe, and with the Diamond city for ever - Amsterdam thrown in, what more could one ask for ?

Day 1 London / Dover / Calais / Paris

 

Early morning meet at Euston London British Rail arrival and departure hall, where there is the Burger King stand. Please assemble by 07.30 a.m. for departure by British Coach to Dover where our P/O Ferry will bring us across the English channel to France. Around 2.30 p.m. local time a new coach takes over, soon we head for the SIN city of Paris, the capital of the great French country.

Day 2 Paris city tour and free time

After breakfast, our trusty coach is ready to show you first hand the most glamorous cities in the world. We see Notre Dame, one of the most beautiful churches in the world and a masterpiece of medieval art. The Arc de Triomphe, Champs-Elys'ees, Place de la Concorde, Trocadero Gardens, the Opera House and the Grande Dame of Paris - Eiffel. 

 
Versailles visitors:  In the afternoon (Sunday only), we stop outside the Golden Gate of the Palace of for your visiting pleasure on your own. Entrance fee payable at the gate (close on Monday). Versailles first built in 1623, by Louis XIII - father of Louis XIV as his 'hunting lodge. The king liked it so much that he soon had it enlarged. Today, we could view the splendour of about 20 apartments, such as the Queen's Bedchamber , The Hall of Mirrors; The king's 'Grand Apartment, the War and Peace room, the Chapel and more. This optional visit will express the extravagant lifestyle of the French court at its height.

Day 3 Paris choice of tours

A choice of either you drop off at Disneyland today in the morning, or continue with the coach to the Louvre museum.

Disneyland visitors: Stroll on the Main street USA, which fan out to Frontierland, Fantasyland, with the most popular attractions and shows for your choice. Don't miss out the horror of Phantom Manor, The Castle, the exciting Big Thunder Mountain Honey, I shrunk the Audience, Peter Pan Blue Lagoon Indiana Jones, and the pleasure rides on It's a small World Pirates of the Caribbean, and for those with brave heart, take on Space Mountain.

Louvre museum visitors: The museum is open daily, except Tuesdays and certain public holidays, from 9am to 6pm. Evening openings until 9.45pm on Mondays ("short tour") and Wednesdays. The Louvre museum, the World's largest museum, proudly houses Art from the Oriental and Islamic background; Egyptian, Greek; Etruscans and Roman Antiquities; Sculptures in marble, stone, bronze and wood; and of course more than 6 000 European paintings includes the world famous "Mona Lisa". This section has collection dating from the end of the XIIIth century to the mid XIXth century, in a wide variety of genres and formats, from miniatures to monumental canvases, and offering encyclopaedic diversity.

 

 Winged Victory - Lourve

In its "Objets d'Art" department, there includes furniture, tapestries, ivories, gold and silver items, jewellery, glass, faience and porcelain, small bronzes, dating from the end of the Antique period to the middle of the XIXth century. It is indeed a day to plod along and marvel at every step you take.

It is a day of great fun for both, family joy or the culture vulture's satisfaction. Coach will pick both parties at specific time for dinner.

Day 4 Paris / Reim / Metz

Our destination this morning is Reims, the French city with monuments which UNESCO listed as World Heritage, it is also the most famous town of the Champagne region. Stop to stroll to the famous Cathedral of Notre Dame in Reims, a masterpiece of Gothic art, the Cathedral of Our Lady was started in 1211. It was the cathedral of coronations for French kings in memory of the baptism of Clovis by Saint Remi, probably on Christmas Day 498. The left portal on the west 

front carries the famous Smiling Angel statue. This massive gothic structure is famous for being the coronation place of French kings and stands as a superb example of 13th century gothic architecture. The cathedral square is lovely and a pleasure to wander around with plenty of souvenir shops. Reims is also bubbly, in this, we mean the drinkable golden liquid - Champagne of course. Learn more about it today. Many sparkling wines that claim to be champagne, but only wines produced in this region are given the honoured title of champagne. Our tour takes us to the house of POMMERY. The world best renown Champagne house which was the official champagne of the Festival in Cannes Film Festival.

 

Here we take a special guided tour, descend into the century year old cellar where over a million bottles of champagne are made and aged. Our English speaking guide will spend an hour explaining the history of this prestigious champagne house and the methods employed to make the famous Pommery champagnes. Our tour here will end with a tasting of two champagnes (included). 


You will visit the POMMERY boutique where opportunity to purchase all their champagnes is palpable. The evening is spent in the four flowers of Europe - City of Metz. Who are the other three? Ask and you will be told.

Trier - Visit Karl Marx house.


Day 5 Metz / Trier / Luxembourg / Brussels


An hour away, we are in Germany, the city of Trier. Reputed as the oldest city in Germany, Trier is the finest example of a Roman city at the time of Augustus in 17BC. There are still is an abundant of Roman traces about, starting from the walk through the Port Nigra and its city wall, the streets are all laid out in block form, a typical system perfected by the Romans.  There are lots for you to explore, have your pick during the stop over and 

marvel at the Cathedral and the Basilica, the Imperial Baths and the Forum, indeed, this city is undoubtedly one of the finest in Roman remains outside Italy. Continue to Bruckenstrasse, home of the great philosopher Karl Marx. Born on 5th May 1818, the house on numbers 10 is where the third child of the advocate Heinrich Marx and his wife lived. It was then bought by the Social Democratic Party and open today as "House of the Workers". On entering, one could see permanent exhibitions on the works of Marx, such as the Manifesto of the Communist Party and Das Capital; letter, manuscripts and photographs of his time, it is a museum that attracts countless international visitors annually.

Trier - The cathedral Square.

Next stop, Luxembourg, the capital of the Grand Duchy, is delighted to greet you. You will get to know a more than millennial city, which is proud of its rich, turbulent past and looks to the future optimistically. Luxembourg boasts a large array of historical and cultural sights that are worth seeing, lots of interesting and picturesque spots you can discover, countless legends and anecdotes worth relating. Coach stops here for you to discover a host of specific attractions: Place d' Armes, Constitution Square, Government District, Holy Ghost Plateau, Notre Dame Cathedral, Monument of the Millennium, Old Town and the Hall, Grand Ducal Palace.

Early evening, we are in Brussels, with orientation of the city. Here, we make a brief stop at the Atomium and the Chinese Pavilion, both were built for the 1958 World Fair. Follow you tour manager, through the Grand Place surrounded by gold-gilded gables and say " hello " to the child hero - Manneken Pis. 

This evening, overnight in the township of Wavre.

Day 6 Warve / Fullday Holland excursion
 

We enter Holland heading towards the city of Amsterdam this morning on a fullday trip to yet another lowland country. Early afternoon, in the canal-laced city of Amsterdam, we board an informative cruise on a glass-domed boat. Cruise alongside the 16-17 century merchant houses and soak in the atmosphere that is uniquely Dutch. In Clare Marie Amstelveen, learn how the wooden clog shoes are made, and perhaps purchase one for yourself. Then treat yourself to one of those tempting diamonds when we tour the factory. At Gassan, we see how raw stones are polished into sparkling gems, the skills which so much of the prosperity of Holland depends on. Return to Warve this evening by dinner time.

Day 7 Wavre / Calais / London 
 

All happy days got to end, as we bid farewell to Europe, leaving behind the glow of Belgium, we head for the French port of Calais. Soon P and O ferry sails once again across the channel, back to good Ole London town. Your tour ends at the London Euston station.
